So yeah, i've learned I can't actually syndicate my new blog onto livejournal after all. I have to have a paid account to do that, which would be stupid to get seeing as i'm leaving. So yeah, this journal'll still be about, but go to:

http://snakesonatc.blogspot.com

If you want to see my continuing life. NOW WITH 100% MORE POSTAGE!

If I remember, which I should, as this new account is what's keeping me occupied recently.

Me
Yeah so out of boredom, I created a blogger account, and I think I might just switch to it permanently.

I've always been an advocate of new technologies and ways, and Livejournal's starting to become very outdated for me. You never know, blogger.com might turn out to be just as outdated. But you gotta give it a try.

My god that is the most cliched thing I have wrote in ages. I always try not to be. While some cliches are fun and, dare I say, Bitchin' (etc: The hard-ass drinking detective with a heart of gold.), but others, such as 99% of what emos write, just look boring. Hence... yeah, i'm off.

This journal isn't closing down though. I might have abandoned livejournal to a degree, but not my friends (AGAIN WITH THE CLICHES.) that I have on LJ, hence i'll keep the account around to watch my friends with, and probably RSS Syndicate my new blog there.

However, for those who want to see the new blog, it's at http://snakesonatc.blogspot.com. It looks utterly dire at the moment, but assuming the interface is what I think it is, this could be a good way to get back into my webdesign skills. Hooray!

Anyway, see you all later.

BTW, I recently signed up for last.fm as well, helping to fuel, as they call it, the SOCIAL MUSIC REVOLUTION! Overall I signed up for the free internet webstreams you get to listen to, but it could help widen my palette.

And no, i'm not getting a myspace account.

Or a bebo account.

OR a facebook account.

So there. :(

Okay yeah, I couldn't resist that last entry. Other stuff that's happened to me (For as much my benefit as yours, my memory is getting unreliable in my old age.)

Leading on from my Easter hols post, my social paranoia has indeed reduced somewhat! Now if I were able to read moods on people better we'd be fucking getting somewhere!

Star City was amazing. No offence to anyone involved with Arcadia (Because as much as it apparently sucked, I really enjoyed doing Arcadia), but Star City blew it clean out of the water. It was so much more fun to do and, according to many people who once escaped from the Soviet Union, was remarked to be "BETTER THAN EXPECTED." It also affirms my so called "skill" at acting, as Bendy remarked "To be honest when I saw you in Arcadia I thought you weren't really that good, but in Star City you were amazing." I love compliments.

Star City didn't really sweep the floor (or whatever the damned expression is!) at the LUTG oscars, but we did win Best Publicity, and Tessa, who was fantastic portraying the general, won best supporting actress, which I think is pretty damn good anyway!

And as for next term, well i'm now the producer for "Forced Labels", a self-written play by someone in Theatre Studies. I've been wanting to produce for damned ages, and after singing that song from The Producers for a term, I think people finally paid attention!

I've also decided to try my hand at directing next year as well, in the Summer term, doing the play which got Sparky, Joe & myself a respectable C at A-level drama (Openshaw was shit, we could have done better). That's right, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are dead, by Tom Stoppard! (Funny man!). More on that story later.

And now for the rest of the headlines:

Portillo's teeth removed to boost pound;
Car drives past window on street;
And bouncing elephantitis woman destroys central Portsmouth.

Yes i've been watching The Day Today. Again. And I love it.

Matt.

Me
It's Friday the 7th of October. It's 1:30PM. The internet just came online today in my room, and i've only just got it working.

And what a week i've had. As you can tell from the title, it's been absolutely fantastic so far.

For those not in the loop, i'm at Lancaster university. And whilst I was a tad disappointed that I didn't get into Edinburgh, I don't mind. And whilst I was a tad disappointed that I didn't get into Furness College, where Dave and Tom are, I don't mind.

Why? Because this is the best house and college on campus. By far. And yes, that is heavily biased, but based on the people i've met and the friends i've made, I can say at LEAST it's better than most houses. Even the JCR (Junior Common Room) people, who are like our freshers week and general event organisers, have said that our house has thrown the best parties thus far.

As for the whole collegic system of Lancaster, I don't care what anyone else says, collegic unis are fantastic. Being in a college really instills a sense of pride in you, and allows for many many sing/chant/scream-offs between the various colleges with our different (And yet surprisingly similar) songs.

Those who know me well enough will have known that I was deeply deeply worried that I would change during freshers week, as i've heard stories of people changing and becoming quite up their own arse, and thinking they're better than other people, and various various other things. And the truth is: I've changed. And I know i've changed.

...

..

.

I have a southern accent.

After 18 years of saying "Oh yeah, if I went somewhere else, I wouldn't pick up the accent. I would remain with the same accent I have now.". Three days after arriving at uni I have a southern accent, which is only punctuated by slight northern bits, like "No". Sarah on the other hand, bless her so much, has acquired a northern accent (She's from the south). But it's all good, it's all good.

I also need to get a new picture of me for the livejournal. That one is horribly out of date now. I'll post more sometime, but i'm far far far too tired, and I have some kind of revision shit tomorrow or something. I dunno.

So TTFN.

I set off for uni in T minus nine hours. What awaits me is unknown.

Should be fun though. I just hope i'm not going to be all nervous for the trip down and shit. I can't stand that kind of stuff.

Me
So, it's two weeks before I head off for the far away land of Lancaster.

Two weeks. Man. Fourteen days. It seems like an age away. And yet, most other people have now departed for their own tales of courage, adventure, and Giant Robots Love. How they are, what they are up to, is left mainly up to the imagination. And sporadic texts from one or two people I get. Oh, and Joe came back for the weekend, which was cool.

This past week though, before Gary and Haley left for Newcastle and Preston respectively, has been a fun one.

Monday: Went out, discovered that Dave, Craig, Tom, etc, had been in a car crash. Everyone was OK, but we went back to Craig's for the night. Didn't get much sleep, but was fun.

Tuesday: Tired. Very tired.

Wednesday: Went to Adrianos for THE AUTHENTIC ITALIAN EXPERIENCE with a bunch of people. We then went back to Craig's for the night :D It involved talking, PS2 games (I finally managed to beat someone at Tekken 5!), and a lot more talking. I got barely any sleep, but was extremely fun. And funny.

Thursday: Tired. VERY tired.

Friday: Bingo! Followed by surprisingly untearful goodbyes. I suppose we know we're all going to see each other again.

Saturday: I worked, then went out AGAIN. Joe was back. We all went to Jumpin' Jaks, where it was good. The music wasn't up to scratch compared to other nights though. They actually had music that was produced after 2000, which just isn't on :(

Still, I hope we'll all keep in contact. I mean, hopefully i'll be going to Newcastle next week, to see Gary's large patriotic room (Saluting is a requirement), and to have a good night out. Seriously, all this going out is going to leave me with no money.

And of course, Haley and Sara aren't that far away by train from Lancaster at all, so hopefully we'll see each other pretty reguarly. Although from what I hear, you make that many friends that regular contact with your other friends gets a bit less regular than you'd like. Let's hope we overcome that though, because I love the friends I have, and i'll miss them all terribly.

* Listening to Avril Lavigne - So punk.

Little in-joke there for Joe.

Still, i'll no doubt update before I go, and after freshers week, where I shall hopefully have many many bountiful tales of pirates treasure, courage, love, adventure, and, fingers crossed, Giant Robots.

And so, farewell for now.

You know. It really doesn't feel like i'm going to uni yet.

It also doesn't feel like i'm going to be spending about £450 on a new computer next week. Ah well, I guess I will closer to the time.

I hope this new computer construction isn't as haphazard as the last one. All I can remember last time is putting stuff in, wondering if i'm doing the right thing, and shitting myself when something unexpected happened :D

But I think I know more about what i'm doing now, and it should be an awesome computer all things considered... okay, AWESOME BY THE STANDARDS OF MY CURRENT COMPUTER.

I also decided to invest in a freeview card for it, so I can have lovely DVB TV at uni. Best get my TV licence sorted out then :D

Still, the most current things happening are that i'm going to Manchester on Saturday for my cousin's wedding, and Milky Joe, Smoov writing beatle-haired wonder in lycra, leaves for Glasgow this weekend. OH THE HUMANITY. THEY GROW UP SO FAST.

After that, Haley and I think Gary leave for UCLAN and Newcastle (respectively) the week after. Along with most of my other friends. Leaving Tom, Dave, myself and possibly a few others that I don't know about left in Carlisle waiting for another two weeks. Blimey.
